Jamie Oliver has always been my all-time favourite celebrity chef! and of course my cooking style was inspired entirely by him! he always uses the fresheeeest ingredients and omits processed meat in his cooking.
however, as much as i would love to cook my dinner, sometimes i just feel jaded from work, and the last thing i wanna do, is, cooking. eating out is the only solution. but i wouldn’t make do with unhealthy fast food. so let me introduce SandWhich to you, whose health-conscious as i am.
SandWHICH is situated at I-Avenue (near to the HUGE roundabaout there) and it’s just two doors away from Subway. Ya they have balls like that ;). you will find out why shortly.
displaying yogurt and yogurt drink made in house.
huge menu board hanging up on the wall. you can either have your SandWHICH their way (board 1 –6) or Create Your Own Wish by mixing and matching the ingredients.
speaking of menu.
today i was at this Mugshot cafe, which has similar huge board of menu. and while we were eating/chi-chatting, one uncle went to the counter and asked for menu. and the staff just pointed nonchalantly at the wall (where the menu is), that’s our menu. it was really funny when we heard the whole conversation.
it’s okay if you don’t find it funny.
the layout of the shop is simple and unpretentious. and there’s a cosy couch at the back against that featured wall, perfect for those who wanna have a intimate time together … with sandwiches wtf.
yay to fitter and slimmer me!
but to honest, i actually put on slight weight ever since i have homecooked dinner :/ but everyone says i look better with puffy cheeks :/ or maybe they said that just to please me? hmmm
you can be creative with your sandwich with these ingredients. yes there’s even fruits!
step 1: choose your bread
- Olive Ciabatta
- Wholemeal Loaf
something you should know about the bread is, the proprietor went ALL OUT to source the best dough for each bread. he vows to only serve the BEST to his customers. these breads are baked fresh daily.
i especially adored Olive Ciabatta. the bread was soft and dense with olive scent. others were great as well, croissant was buttery fluffy!
step 2: choose your main
fresh Tuna all the way from Bali!
pinkish lean pork
SandWHICH only serves the premium ingredient to the customer. both chicken and pork are specially grown from farm, hence antibiotic-free! Tuna is all the way from Bali, not canned. and Omega Egg is antibiotic-free as well!
in short, they use better meat than Subway, no processed meat no nonsense. and also they serve porkie 😉 strictly non-halal!
step 3: choose your veggie
step 4: quench your thirst
all of the yogurt & yogurt drinks are made in house. fresh milk is used in the process instead of powdered! some might find the yogurt too sour especially the guys. it’s more sour than the commercial ones, because sweetening is minimal here. the girls on the other hand, loved it!
this power fruit juice with yogurt was a concoction consists of lemon, pineapple, green apple, orange and lychee, blended with a powderful high speed blender resulting a super fine fibre fruit juice. and because the particle is so delicate, it’s readily and easily adsorbed by human body. moreover, probiotic is your intestine’s bff! so it’s a cuppa awesome power juice!
i highly recommend this beverage!
other Hot & Lovely and Cold & Healthy beverages on the menu, price ranging from RM 2.80 – RM 7.90
step 5: indulge in awesomeness!
pan-fried omega egg sandwich layered with lettuce, japanese cucumber, capsicum, and red cabbage, topped with homemade mayonnaise and then sandwiched between wholemeal loaf!
i reckon this is not egg-y enough as the egg was too thin. scrambled egg probably would be better?
slices of oven-baked porkie coated with their flavoursome secret recipe sauce and sesame kiap-ed with olive ciabatta. this was actually my first encounter with ciabatta, and i loved it.
the porkie was really juicy and flavourful! it was one of my favourite sandwich @ SandWHICH! lol
fluffy airy croissant 🙂
fresh tuna was first steamed and then shredded, and mixed with their homemade mayonnaise after that. the proprietor goes through all the hassle because he takes the food quality seriously. only the freshest ingredients are permitted for existence in his shop.
and the idea behind this is, he’s concerned with the food his children eating. he noticed more and more fast food establishments are mushrooming and food quality is often compromised to maximise profit margin.
he however, pleads to be different! hence the birth of SandWHICH! which serves you healthy fast food!
watching how the staffs prepared my sandwiches made me heaved few sighs of relief! gloves, check. hat, check. apron, check also! 😀 and they were berry friendly and know the menu berry well 😀
steamed chicken breast topped with the usual greens and reds, sandwiched in a puffy croissant! not my favourite though as the porkie stole my heart away 😛
and oh did i mention that i ate the capsicum! i weren’t dare to at first, but Mr Fong (the bossie) encouraged me to have a bite! and it was crunchy and sweet, muchy to my surprise! and it’s not smelly, unlike red and green capsicum! 😀
and guess what!
SandWHICH serves fruit sandwich too, other than meaty ones! it’s made of layers of green apple, orange, and peach topped with mayo and fruit yogurt! it’s tangily refreshing! and i bet you don’t see this in other sandwich eatery!
this is certainly a must-try for those who weigh themselves frantically 😛
Mr Fong (the bossie) with his helpful and friendly staffs!
