welcome to one of the latest hangout spots in town! Sin See Tai is a lil’ quaint cafe located on a quiet alley, off the crowded touristy area.
we took a short stroll from the car park (RM 3/ entry) along wooden nostalgic shop-houses and arrived at the door step which is instagrammable.
pushed open the woody door, strong aroma of coffee welcomes you. and once you enter the premises, you would feel… claustrophobic. it’s so small… the open kitchen and the bar (that fits about 3 persons) takes up the ground floor. my date and i exchanged look, “where to sit???” the girl seems to understand us, “there’s upstair, climb the stairs this way” with a gesture showing us where the stairs are. my date and i exchanged look again, “phew!”.
but first, order food. the menu is limited but interesting.
the narrow stairs led us up to the first floor which looks very homey and fresh with all the greenery plotted here and there. it’s a lil’ more spacious and i can finally breathe now. it’s still not roomy enough to cater to large crowd though.
we ordered two safe dishes – Big Breakfast & Avocado Bacon Toast which both are very substantial and somewhat creative.
Big Breakfast consists of sauteed mushroom, fluffy scrambled egg on a slice of sourdough bread, sausage, bacon, salad with marinated cabbage & onion and miso eggplant!
while my Avocado Bacon Toast, from the dish name you’d know there’s definitely avocado (half) & bacon (two fat slices) sits atop of the sourdough bread, served with salad and soft-boiled egg ala Japanese style!
other options, if i remember correctly, are Heart Chia Pudding, Quinoa Salad which i’m going to order during my next visit!
i love hot drinks in the morning even though the weather smothering warm. he needs coffee and hot chocolate is right up my alley.
we’re quite stuffed from the mains, but, there’s always room for dessert, innit? this instagrammable dessert looks aesthetic and tastes heavenly too! the waffle is done with the right crisp, paired with refreshing popsicle which incorporated with fruits, studded with pomegranate seeds, mango cubes and granola.
it’s a wonderful end to our hearty breakfast. i will definitely revisit to try out other items on the menu! and you should too, add this on your makan list!
