okay continuation from my Johor Day Trip! last post was on our visit to this quaint Anke Uke Cafe in Kluang. we were supposed to feast on Botak’s Curry Mee, i know right, botak HAHA. luck weren’t on our sides though, it’s all sold out :(. next time baby.
so we made a quick detour to Kluang RailCoffee.
December 24th, 2013 [Tuesday]
noone should leave Kluang without visiting Kluang RailCoffee. serious. and i am glad that we managed to squeeze this in despite our tight schedule (visited three towns that day, Segamat – Kluang – ToBeRevealedNext).
it’s situated right next to the Kluang Railway Station.
Kluang RailCoffee commenced in 1938, nearly 8 decades in business! it’s now manned by 3rd generation of the Lim clan!
i am sure you have seen some Kluang Station around. donno about you, but i spotted one in Tesco Malacca!
i likey the original feel of the facade. traditional yet clean.
when i pointed my Hugo (the D90) at him, this dude just wouldn’t budge. then suddenly he cheekily smiled and tarik! hence the birth of this beautiful shot! *blows nails* *syiok sendiri* XD
all the roti were toasted on charcoal, instead of electrical oven.
i thought the pricing is pretty old school too!
Neslo for bffwb and Teh O O for me!
yeah it’s double O which translates to Teh O Kosong! he said the Neslo is kao enough to his liking.
Mee Siam | RM 0.80
i was intrigued by how 80 cents Mee Siam looks like, so i ordered one. it’s mediocre, just meehoon and taugeh, well, of course, it’s just 80 cents.
Roti Bun with Butter & Kaya | RM 1.30
Roti Keping with Butter & Kaya | RM 1.20
both toasted rotis sandwiched a thick slab of butter and kaya spread. it’s crisp but not crumbly. yummy!
Kluang RailCoffee would make a great place for brekkie and tea break! i have to remind you though, it closes between time 1200 – 1430..
just look at the thick slab of butter. reminds me of polo bun in Hong Kong!
the bill came up to RM 5.50 only. which i think they gave us discount. #perksofbeinglenglui #behpaiseh. either that or their math was bad :/
Kluang KTM Station,
0700 – 1200, 1430 – 1800
closed on Thursday.
