{Klang Valley} Macarons @ TWG Tea Salon & Boutique, Pavilion KL

after hearing and seeing so muchy about macarons, i finally got to really devour one(s)! thanks to the boyf <3! seriously if i were to pay muself, thanks but no thanks. one tiny biji almost cost the same as a plate of chap fan okie! *kiamsiap*

simply alluring.

there’s altogether 8 flavours to choose from…

TWG is famous for its EXTENSIVE tea selection! i nudged the boyf to bring us here for afternoon tea one lovely fine day!

the finest tea of the world, it says.

we bought a box of six. i didn’t know which to pick, so i told the staff to choose the six best-sellers. and they were encased in an exquisite mustard box.

just in case you didn’t know, Italy is the birthplace of macaron!

left – right (RM 4 each):
Lemon Bush Tea,
Napoleon Tea & Caramel,
Camelot Tea & Praline, ,
Grand Wedding Tea, Passion Fruit & Coconut,
Earl Grey & Chocolate
Bain de Rose Tea

as you can see read, their macarons are all infused with their in-house tea. that’s what make TWG’s macarons stand out from the rest.

i was holding Grand Wedding Tea, Passion Fruit & Coconut

my first bite of macaron was :O. so this is macaron ar…

the shells were crisp yet not crumbly, while the inside was chewy and moist, it almost melted in my mouth <3. the tea fragrance was subtle, not too overpowering to my liking. only if they were done with less sugar, it would be perfect. i don’t like my dessert overly sweet.

i really likey the slight sourness in Grand Wedding Tea, Passion Fruit & Coconut. and Napoleon Tea & Caramel work amazingly well together, to my surprise! i heard the Bain de Rose Tea was good too (boyf’s sis had it)!

i will definitely be back to TWG again! for their afternoon tea set and macarons, of course!

    1. i think the usual macarons might be jela after few bites since they are soooo sweet! but this tea-infused ones, i thought they are pretty refreshing, sweet too, but not overly done!

    1. oh ye ar? i have never baked in my life! but we have some bakery recipe books sitting nicely in the cupboard collecting dust wtf.

wait one fine day and we’ll venture into baking. one fine daaaaaay…

i thought it’s quite hard to get the proper texture right, it can get hard and crumbly easily…hence we are paying for the effort and time? but still is expensive la
