i was doing my usual daily round of blog-wandering on a boring sunday. and then i chanced upon this post and i saw PORK BURGER OHMAIGEE, instantly caught all my attention. i have been missing one since i came back from Hong Kong last September!!! McD in HK served Pork burger!!! *wipes drool*.
ok, so, as i scrolled down, turned out that this burger is just a few doors away from where i am staying. looked at the operating time, 5.30pm, yesh, just in time. grabbed my homies along and off we went for pork burger hunting! we came home with three extra biji burgers. we vowed to dine in next time. to try the other items on the menu. and we sure did.
it’s one of those houses-turned-shophouses. during the day, it looks like an ordinary terrace house, and as the night falls, pork-lovers herd together at the car porch. there’s no signage or whatever, you might overlook this gem. i’ll provide the address below, make sure you have your gps or google maps ready.
i’ve been there few times before this post is up. and each time, i went there early, just to make sure that i am the first few customers of the day #kiasu. that’s the boyf, btw.
that’s the specials that day. the special varies from day to day. repetitions makes stale. haha. i’m certainly not complaining.
*update: bak chang’s price had recently increased to RM 5. the size grows as well! 🙂
we ordered two sets which priced at RM 10 each.
i sneaked into the kitchen and caught the chef in action (like, duh)
fresh greens which make a burger (and my life wtf) completes.
served with a crispy garlic wholemeal bread. it’s not your ordinary can food soup, of course. don’t be surprised to feel those tiny bits and occasional huge-yet-bite-sized mushrooms lingering in your mouth, dancing intimately with the tongue, great time i assure you.
again, it’s not your ordinary can food soup, so don’t expect the sodium level will be the same. however, you might wanna dash some pepper in it to give it a lil’ more oomph
a glassful of fibres, 100% tomato blended with sour plum, no additional sugar, water or nonsense. even the boyf loved it! it acts as a appetiser so that our stomach and mind are prepared for the next.
a slice of creamy cheese + homemade pork patty + slices of tomato, lettuce and onions sandwiched between two toasted sesame buns.
i remembered the very first bite was HMMMM followed by a satisfied look. i rushed out and saw homies were having the same expression, we then sang praise to the burger. not too meaty, the flavour is just ngam ngam hou. not too overwhelming nor bland.
that was the first time the boyf had a freaking pork burger *smacks forehead* he certainly enjoyed his, which explains why he tapao-ed the double trouble for supper! it’s tasty even if it’s eaten few hours later. but i personally prefer it serves hot.
black pepper sauce and barbeque sauce are also available with additional of 50 cents while double trouble is priced at RM 8.
it’s like a slightly runny spicy scrambled egg served with a toast (the scallion atop was removed rightaway after this picha was taken. if you don’t know me, i hate scallion, parsley or similar glass). i thought it’s an innovative way of having toast!
it’s a lil too spicy for the boyf’s liking though. his stomach is not spicy friendly :(. but i love spicy food, the spicier the merrier, how cow.
homemade pandan flavoured ice cream, berry smooth and creamy. however, the flavour might be a lil’ bland. blame it on those commercial mass produced sweetened ice cream. brown sugar is available upon request. sweetness is totally customizable!
that’s the good-looking chef CUM blogger, Jacgy Chan! he told me he blogs too and i just scoffed him off wtf. didn’t know he’s actually quite femes in local blogosphere #jakun.
