on our first day in Hanoi, we asked Liên for cafe recommendation where we could have a good cuppa coffee while exploring Old Quarter. Liên highly recommended this Cong Caphe, which conveniently located opposite of St. Joseph Cathedral, one of the few tourist spots we visited. i later found out that Cong Caphe is a popular cafe franchise in Vietnam.
rustic, military yet chic are what sum up the interior. it’s full house when we arrived and i secretly prayed hard that we could secure a table next to my favourite window, and wish granted! our cuppa coconut coffee were what we imagined it to be, milky and icy cool. it’s served in affogato style, coconut milk shaved ice drawn with Vietnamese coffee and topped with more shaved ice! very syiok to gulp down on a humid and scorching hot day. we rested a bit and leeched on their wifi before continuing our exploration.
this is the only decent coffee we had in Hanoi, cos most of the time we prefered tangy passion fruit juice to quench our thirsts while getting lost in Old Quarter.
