Hong Kong: Roasted Goose @ Yung Kee Restaurant, Central

saw Ken posted a roasted duck photo on fb bloody hell make me yearn for one! and then i suddenly remember i have had one berry nice roast goose in Hong Kong which i never blogged about, why not now i thought!

Kikilala (not real name) and i walked across 9 streets like literally just so that i we got to taste the femes roast goose from Yung Kee Restaurant!

i must really admire our ability to get lost all the time even though we had map with us. we were always on the opposite direction hence wasted most of our time on the wrong way FOL. we almost gave up half way, but i insisted we MUST find it! *thingidoforsiungobei wtf

it better be darn good, Kikilala warned. :/

the roasted goose came with a sour plum sauce which i thought didn’t really complement the goose at all!

the roasted goose was good on its own! berry berry juicy and tasty! the skin was already soggy but it’s okay, didn’t affect the taste. the meat was soft and tender ooh lala

Kikilala who’s berry health concious couldn’t resist a bite too! phew! worth the walking! and yeah i devoured  the skin as well Hong Kong: Roasted Goose @ Yung Kee Restaurant, Central too good!

their century egg is one of the must-order dish too. too bad i am not a fan. i’ll pass it.

the aftermath!

the price was hefty though, around 120 HKD if i am not mistaken. it’s around RM 48! or was it 80 HKD? hmmmm…

i don’t mind walking all the way there again, if i am revisiting Hong Kong! hopefully the boyf is there to hold my shopping bags and be my portable tripod next time!

i was wondering whether to still blog about HK trip which was errrrr 10 months ago :/. procrastination is my middle name. seimou. and since i have the picture and some leisure time now, why not? i did blog about HK but unfortunately everything was pooof GONE thanks to him. so yeah, blog all over again, if memory still serves me good la.

i went to HK for 5D4N (18th – 22nd Sept 2011) together with my bff, kikilala (not real name). it was the first time we both, the notorious blur queens, travelled oversea together. we did get lost here and there, spending muchy time finding our way :/. luckily we came in one piece, each. i am berry looking for our next trip, next year most probably! and we consent that  my boyf can come along this time because we need a portable tripod. hehe.

so, during our 4 nights there, we were staying at this Hello Inn. since we were on budget (wanna save more moolah for shopping hehe), and only both of us, inn was the best option. i searched for accommodation through tripadvisor and found Hello Inn, ranking number 1 inns in Hong Kong. i exchanged few emails with the owner, Ivan, enquired about the room we wanted. and then we wired the deposit of 750 HKD to him.

we arrived at around 2130. Ivan wasn’t around but he informed us on to-do upon arrival via email.

was pretty surprised at how small our Deluxe Double Room is. but then, the following days we realized, this was just enough for us. cos by the end of the day when we were back to our room, we showered, then admired our loots and slept. i can assured you that it fits two HUGE luggages at the tiny walkway beside the bathroom. in addition, the room was clean and tidy, equipped with the minimal necessities including wifi, shower heater, air-conditioner, and tv.

small yet complete bathroom.

some satisfied tourist left some sweet notes on the board. and some generous ones gave out discount vouchers. we didn’t take any cos we couldn’t afford the bags that cost our arms and legs even after the discount.

that’s Ivan! only met him on our last day as he was admitted to hospital for some check up. he is really really friendly and even walked us to one Japanese restaurant as we were confused with the route. we secretly cursed that why didn’t he appear earlier? that would save us a lot of time, finding our way. haih direction idiots we are seimou.

Hello Inn is also berry strategically situated!
