Malacca: Baba Laksa Kahwin Nyonya Asam Laksa @ Jonker 88, Jonker street

Baba Laksa Kahwin Nyonya Asam Laksa | RM 5 ++

Haven’t stepped into this Museum Cafe (read: overly commercialized eatery) for yearsss. The food quality has somehow deteriorated. Must be the fame. Le sigh.

But, I thought this bowl of laksa tasted GOOOOD. Nyonya laksa was bland and dilute on its own, after intercoursing (it’s a marriage ma) with baba laksa, the outcome was pretty phenomenal! Or maybe it’s just me. The broth was slightly spicy with a tinge of sourness!

The cendol, however was blah.

you guys still remember this convo between Daddy & i some time ago? two weeks later, i was homed and finally had a chance to try the buffet at Hatten Hotel Melaka’s in-house cafe, Chatterz!

like many other Hotel’s buffet, Chatterz offers a wide array of food selection, from main course to Japanese cuisine to Salad to seafood to dessert! i didn’t wanna deluge you with shots of every single dish available. instead i’ll share some of my FAVOURITE which i took more than two rounds. hehe. must eat ALL i can ma.

plus its casual and relaxing ambiance, how not to eat more?

first up was this soupy dish.

it was a rainy late afternoon so this warm dish really came in handy. you can either opt for fresh fish or fried fish slices. i had mine with fresh flesh and i love that the soup is flavourful. and chili padi is the best condiment for soup dish. ya i am a spicy girl.

OYSTER!!!

i kept  going back for more and more. i love that it’s slimy and easily slide down my throat. too good. oyster is an aphrodisiac cos ancient people thought it resembles female sex organ (!!!). but it’s proven that it really do trigger the production of sex hormones, thanks to its richness in amino acids.

my first encounter with oyster was years ago at Jogoya! and it has been a no looking back journey since then.

sate!

what’s special is the sauce! one’s the ordinary peanut kuah. while the one on top was actually a secret kuah made of pineapple! something we all never had before. all of us love the latter. we went back for more too. too good to resist.

last but never least,

dessert section.

they change their dessert menu periodically. and lucky us these were the new items the chef just came up with, so we were the first few person who had them. most of them were berry decent, not cloying to my liking! i can’t stand overly sweet dessert.

Malacca: Tea Break @ I Love Yoo!, AEON Jusco

AEON Jusco is my favourite shopping centre in Malacca! because it’s located slightly away from town (read: NO JAM)! so yeah, we were there one weekend to do some shopping bond. after muchy damaged done (ooouuch!), Sou Sou (Bro’s fiance) suggested we have a tea break (and sunbin rest our legs) before heading home. so I Love Yoo! it was. quite cute the name!

and this was what we order!

we requested to switch one of the yaozhaguai to butterfly bun (马脚). i likey the subtle sweetness in butterfly bun over the long twin fritter. the bland Dry Scallop Porridge complement with yaozhaguai berry well! i grew up eating like that! porridge + yaozhaguai or bak kut teh + yaozhaguai! and i love my taofufah with ginger syrup! whatabout you?
