Part II Washing starts now (read the Part I here)! I will only focus on the current ones that I’m using for this post.
1) Laneige Multi Cleanser, 30ml (Free gift)
- A new 4-in-1 cleanser removes makeup, removes sunscreen, exfoliates and cleanses at once.
- Micro-sized dense foam removes makeup completely leaving fresh feeling.
- Mild plant-based cleansing ingredients and Papain enzymes, the exfoliating enzymes extracted from papaya fruit, remove makeup completely and exfoliate for smoother skin.
* Completely removes base makeup, such as sun cream, BB cream, and foundation, as well as color makeup.
The product is pretty thick, creamy and white in color. Upon application and massage, it lathers well into a foamy texture. Skin looks brighter after each wash. Must be due to the exfoliating enzymes. Nothing special to review as it feels like a common facial cleanser that can be found in any drugstores. I do not believe its claim of completely removing everything though because the texture itself doesn’t feel like it will mix with the makeup to be removed unlike cleansing milks or oils. It feels more like cleaning the face through washing.
2) The Face Shop Olive Phyto Powder in Multi Cleanser 3 in 1 (170ml)
The Face Shop claims:
Effective cleansing effects. Minimize the stimulation to skin. Removes impurities and dead skin cells. Contains olive oil: excellent moisture benefits + excellent affinity to skin.
I think I bought it because it was featured in Cleo magazine a few years back. Hahaha. Economical choice of product considering it is from a medium ranged brand and 170ml. It was ok but I did not like the “slippery” feel it left on my face. Made me wash a few times just to ensure it is thoroughly free from the cleanser. I used it after swimming as I just need a quick bath before heading back home. With the 3 in 1 benefits, I can just wash my face and go without needing to bring along a moisturizer as chlorine water is very drying to the skin. This cleanser provides enough cleansing and hydration and is very suitable if you’re a person on the go.
3) Artistry Essentials Balancing Cleanser, 135ml
The cleanser that cleans, clarifies, and exfoliates skin to a balanced finish. For combination-to-oily skin.
This product can be found in Amway outlets. It is very gentle on the skin and is a clear gel. The texture is lightweight and had a light floral fragrance. My skin is left feeling clean and fresh after each wash. Because of its mildness, I use it in the morning. No dry afterfeel. What I didn’t like was that a lot of product is needed to foam up well with water. I practically needed a big dollop on my palm for my whole face. Kinda wasteful as it is a bit pricey for 135ml.
4) Dermalogica Special Cleansing Gel, 50ml, RM58
Soap-free, foaming gel cleanses all skin conditions. Refreshing lather thoroughly removes impurities without disturbing the skin’s natural moisture balance. Calming Balm Mint and Lavender extracts soothe the skin, while natural Quillaja Saponaria gently foams away toxins and debris. Formulated without artificial fragrances and colors.
I got it for free after purchasing so many products from Dermalogica. LOL. It is a clear gel that lathers very well with water though you need some time for that as it doesn’t lather immediately. Very mild so it doesn’t irritate my skin. Skin feels squeaky clean without drying. A pea sized drop is enough for my whole face. The smell is very pleasant and I am in love with it. The packaging is suitable for traveling and can be refilled. Will purchase the 500ml one after I have finished this.
5) Dermalogica Dermal Clay Cleanser, 500ml, RM232
Deep-cleansing clay formula purifies oily skin. Water-soluble Kaolin and Green clays combine with purifying extracts of Sambucus, Ivy and Lemon to remove excess oils and refine the skin’s texture. Calming Cucumber and Sage soothe, while refreshing Menthol revitalizes even the most tired skin. Formulated without artificial fragrances and colors.
I was introduced to this product because my face is dry on the outside whereas oily on the inside so I produce a lot of oil during the day and this cleanser is meant to combat the oil production. The product is quite thick and smells of menthol that leaves a soothing, refreshing and cooling sensation on the skin. Because of that, I use it in the morning for an additional perk me up. But if you have acne or wounds on your face, the application of product kinda leaves a prickly sensation but is still bearable. It doesn’t produce foams and it is straight applied onto your wet face followed with massage as shown in the picture below.
First time using a product that doesn’t have foams. Cool! Face feels clean without any tightness even though it a clay cleanser. I preferred Special Cleansing Gel though as I like foams. Lol.
Hope you guys had fun reading Part I and Part II of the Double Cleansing method. Do practice it everyday for a healthier and cleaner face!
